When you have registered your new address and chosen a GP, you will receive a new health insurance card, where the name and address of your GP will be stated.

Post boxes in Denmark are red. You will find them outside all post offices at different locations in villages, towns and cities.

Post Danmark´s Danish website has an online application that allows you to search by location for the post box nearest to your address.

To find the location of a post box:

• Click on the “Postkasse” (post box) link in the column on your left hand side.

The surname/family names of residents at an address must be on the letter box. Letters sent to a person’s address, where the person´s name is not stated on the letter box, will be returned to sender.

If you move to a new address you are required to register your new address at Citizens’ Services in the Municipality you move to. You must do so no later than five days after you have moved. When you have registered your new address you will receive a new health insurance card. If you move to a new municipality or more than 15 kilometres away from where your general practitioner is located you will need to choose a new general practitioner.
