If you need medical attention outside your General Practitioner’s opening hours, call the emergency doctor service.

You will find the telephone number of your regional emergency doctor service on your municipal authority’s website, in the telephone dictionary or on the website www.laegevagten.dk. Note that the information on the different websites is often only available in Danish. 

You can also look up the number on the Yellow Pages www.dgs.dk. Enter Lægevagten (emergency doctor service)in the Hvad/What search box. Then click on Vælg område/Select area and select the region in which you want the number for the emergency doctor service, and click on Søg/Search. Alternatively, you can enter your postal code in the Hvor/Were search box.

In Central Denmark Region the number for the emergency doctor service is: +45 70 11 31 31.

There are different numbers to the emergency dental service (Tandlægevagten) depending on what region you are in.You can find the telephone number of the regional emergency dental service on your municipal authority’s website, in the telephone dictionary or on the website www.tandlaegeforeningen.dk. Note that the information on the different websites is often only available in Danish.  

You can also look up the number on the Yellow Pages www.dgs.dk. Enter Tandlægevagten (emergency dental services)in the Hvad/What search box. Then click on Vælg område/Select area and select the region in which you want the number to the emergency dental service, and click Søg/Search. Alternatively, you can enter your postal code in the Hvor/Were search box.

The number of the emergency dental services in the Central Denmark Region is +45 40 51 51 62.

In Denmark, there are 11 twenty-four hour pharmacies (Døgnåbne Apoteker) in eleven towns and cities. You will find a list of the eleven 24-hours pharmacies in Denmark, their contact information and links to the pharmacies’ website at the Lægevagten website. The pharmacies are listed under the heading DE DØGNÅBNE APOTEKER ER (the 24-hour pharmacies are). Note that this site is in Danish only. 

In addition to the 24-hours pharmacies, 39 pharmacies offer partial after-hours service (Delvis vagttjeneste) or emergency services (Vagttjeneste). A pharmacy which offers partial after-hours service is open for a few hours outside of normal opening hours, at weekends and on public holidays. Pharmacies which offer emergency services only deal with urgent matters after hours. Call one of these pharmacies to arrange an appointment.
